The Great Wright Road Trip

On this Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired road trip, your clients will experience the romance of the open road that culminates in feelings of awe, appreciation and wonder as they tour nine sites designed by America’s greatest architect.

Lovingly-cared for homes, restored masterpieces, reinvigorated landscapes, posthumously-built projects, stunning vistas and furniture from the imagination of the master himself can all be found on this memorable road trip between Buffalo, New York and the Laurel Highlands of Western Pennsylvania.

Highlights of the Wright Road Trip can be done in as little as 2-3 days, but if your clients decide to explore the cities and small towns that lie between and within the two regions, they can easily spend 5-6 days experiencing the work of this American master and the region’s distinctive American heritage.

Your Clients' Next Great Escape

Fun in Buffalo's Waterfront

While Niagara Falls gets the bulk of visitor’s attention, there are plenty of things to “fall for” while in the Buffalo Niagara region.

The newly revitalized waterfront is not only a hub of family-friendly activities, but a totally unique destination characterized by repurposed relics of an industrial past.

The Canalside hosts hundreds of special events each summer, from artisan markets to free yoga classes. The newest additions to Canalside’s menu of family fun options include the Buffalo Heritage Carousel and the Longshed at Canalside, where boatbuildres and volunteers work on a replica of the Seneca Chief, a 73-foot long Erie Canal packet boat.

Buffalo River has the occasional tiki hut bar, stand up paddleboard and the half-bike, half-boat Buffalo Cycleboats. At the Buffalo and Erie County Naval and Military Park, the largest inland park of its kind your clients can spot World War II era ships floating in the river.

Families with kids should stop at the Explore & More - The Ralph C. Wilson, JR. Children’s Museum, a recently opened waterfront museum with four floors of interactive exhibits and play zones to explore.

Your clients can also get closer to the river in a kayak, paddle up the river within the manmade concrete canyon of Elevator Alley, one of the world’s largest collection of grain silos and learn about those same grain silos on a narrated Buffalo River History Tour.

Explore Buffalo's City Murals

Buffalo has quietly become a contender for the title of most murals per capita in the country. Vibrant public art winds its way through my city’s neighborhoods, enhances its busiest streets and splashes the sides of its cafes, pubs and boutiques with funky, offbeat accents.

Murals are everywhere here thanks to the Albright-Knox Art Gallery’s Public Art Initiative, which has attracted internationally renowned muralists and inspired local artists to make the city their canvas.

Hertel Avenue might just be the best place for your clients to experience Buffalo’s booming street art scene, boasting Instagram-worthy murals on nearly every block among its boutiques, restaurants and cafes.

Allentown painted its bars, pubs, stores and restaurants with colorful art long before the rest of the city decided it was cool. The murals along Allen Street seemingly blend in with the creative, artistic fabric of Buffalo’s longtime bohemian neighborhood, from its rainbow colored sidewalks to the many galleries found on the surrounding streets.

Lastly, Buffalo’s Downtown has also become a hotspot for amazing public art.

In recent years Buffalo has undergone a remarkable transformation.

If your clients haven’t been to Buffalo, they haven’t seen the nearly 50 breweries, distilleries and cideries in Buffalo's exploding craft spirits community.

They also missed out on the tremendous growth of the food truck scene, the revitalization of Buffalo's waterfront, the birth of new festivals like Borderland and Porchfest, the dramatic expansion of outdoor recreation options and the exciting evolution of Buffalo’s culinary scene.

Historic homes have been restored, parks reinvigorated, and the landscape transformed by an extraordinary collection of murals and public art.

Buffalo is ready for your clients' company like never before. We have put together themed ideas for your client's next Buffalo and Niagara Falls vacation.

Don't forget to book with our exclusive up to 25% off limited-time deals!

Two days of art, architecture and waterfront fun will leave your clients feeling reinvigorated.

Day 1

Your clients' first stop in the city could be the Frank Lloyd Wright’s Martin House Complex, a historic landmark and one of the gems of the city. After their visit they can walk around the surrounding neighborhood where they will see classic American homes lining the streets, creating a memorable setting for an iconic structure like the Martin House.

Down the street from the Martin House is Hertel Avenue and the surrounding North Park neighborhood, where your clients will find an abundance of great food, bars, shops, and friendly people.

After lunch,  browse the shops along Hertel Avenue or take in the beautiful North Park Theatre and the many murals tucked off the street.

Head to Canalside on the newly revitalized Waterfront, where your clients can stumble upon a concert, water bikers, or ice sculptures if it's  winter. If they want a brief escape from the urban grind they should visit the Tifft Nature Preserve, Buffalo’s urban sanctuary with over 240 species of migrating birds passing through.

For dinner, your clients can pick an award-winning restaurant or try some locally sourced options.

Day 2

On their second day in the city, your clients can immerse themselves in the art of local Western New York artists at the Burchfield Penney Art Center

At lunchtime head to the Buffalo Wing Trail and sample the secret recipes and distinctive preparation styles of the acclaimed Buffalo wings paired perfectly with the locally brewed beer from one of the region’s 40+ craft breweries.

Before leaving, wander up Elmwood Avenue to check out more local shops to buy some souvenirs.
